Yesterday, I attended the one and only New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The weather was perfect; sunny enough to put a smile on your face, windy enough you wouldn’t sweat. It was truly perfect atmosphere. Upon entrance, smiling faces greet you from the right and the left waiting to enjoy the music and food.
Friday, performances included genres ranging from Hip Hop to Zydeco. Such local favorites hit the stage such as Kourtney Heart, Kermit Ruffins, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Big Al Carson Blues Band, along with many more. National artists such as Arcade Fire, Willie Nelson and Lupe Fiasco performed in the evening. Jazz Fest is definitely an adventure! Full of discovering music and food all around the Fairgrounds.
Jazz Fest has been such an experience since I was a kid. Being from New Orleans the music and festivals has always been apart of my cultural experience. Jazz Fest has been apart of me since I was born. It’s just something about being out at a festival catching a breeze listening to a tune as I eat a seafood dish.
Also a chance to meet new people! Jazz Fest is an overall cultural experience. Get out today and/or Sunday and enjoy the last days of Jazz Fest.
