Everything Positively New Orleans

Swoon At The New Orleans Museum Of Art

Street artist Swoon (real name Caledonia Dance Curry) presented her new installation last week at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA). Thalassa, named after and inspired by the Greek goddess of the sea, is a 20-foot tall piece depicting a female deity with tentacles rising from the waters. It connects to New Orleans’ relationship with the sea as a port city and the disasters that have occured there in recent years.
