Day Two of Voodoo Music Experience was all about the music and taking in new experiences, especially local music. We started our adventure at the New Orleans Bounce Azztravaganza which drew in a crowd excited and smiling and ready to dance. First to the stage was an artist I never experienced before one that that probably changed bounce music for me forever, Vockah Redu. I really have no words to describe the phenomenal high energy performance from Vockah Redu. His music is like bounce music of the future, that at some point should make you want to jump up and down as well as dance.
After seeing this performance it made me realize just how much bounce music brings all types of people together in happiness and peace, which I feel is what bounce music and New Orleans is really about! Expressing yourself beyond judgment and have a great time. (Yes, I learned this from Vockah Redu!) Also hitting the stage was a local bounce legend Cheeky Blakk, whom started her performance out in the field with her fans and later bringing some to the stage to dance with her. If you haven’t experienced bounce music performances in your life, you need to.
Later in the evening, I witnessed performances by Social Distortion as well as Snoop Dogg. Snoop came out in a New Orleans Saints Colston jersey; whom has shared a great love with New Orleans and the music scene.
Overall, Day Two was an experience. Experience of love, peace, happiness, and of course unstoppable music.
