Rock of Ages in New Orleans

The Broadway hit, Rock of Ages, is definitely rockin’ this week at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. A great story line where a girl looking to make it big in Hollywood and a boy trying to become a rock star fall in love, despite all the obstacles they face. The show is nothing but pure fun! It was hard not to just start dancing in the theater.

The soundtrack was nothing but 80’s rock and roll hits featuring great bands like, Whitesnake, Poison, Journey, Europe, and Twisted Sister. The cast did a spectacular job, so much energy and enthusiasm. Justin Colombo, does an outstanding job with his character, Lonny, a wacky sound guy at the Bourbon Room night club. Almost every scene is guaranteed to make you laugh.

As part of the show, a guy walks around the theater and sells beer to the audience. Between that, the rock music, and all the lights, you really feel as though you are at a concert. It is definitely a show worth seeing, great music, a great cast, all around it’s just a lot of fun.
