OCH Art Market is excited to present January 14th Market, New Years “ Let’s Make Art” themed Market! This month will be sponsored by National Art & Hobby that has been providing the the arts community in New Orleans with art supplies since 1931.
Also check out the kick off of Le roy’s All Local Foods Cafe that will be serving both breakfast and lunch to market vendors and shoppers. This venture, a collaboration with PPX, will be the first permanent location in New Orleans for an all local foods dining experience and will only be open during the Art Market hours.
The OCH Art Market is a monthly event located in the heart of Central City at 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard in the Zeitgeist theatre. This often underrated Central City neighborhood is a thriving community, full of creative and social ventures alike. The OCH Art Market is helping to raise awareness and appreciation of the nationally recognized historic district. The Art Market serves as a monthly creative hub for neighbors and visitors from all over the city where anyone can come to experience art, history, and (this month) live demonstrations of the art making process.
With a uniquely themed market each month, they will be bringing to you the most talented local artists and vendors! The January 14th market will be focusing on the process involved in making some of the local arts and crafts. Enjoy live demonstrations of and participate in soap and candle making, knitting, pottery painting, and jewelery making. Meet the artists and make great gifts for others or something special for yourself!
As at every market, produce boxes from Hollygrove Farm & Market will be available for pickup as the Market is a designated drop off spot for Hollygrove.(make sure to reserve one online at www.hollygrovemarket.com). The market will feature an additional 30 + local artists, businesses, and non-profits as well.
