The Diva of Dixieland contest will take place in two rounds – a nomination period and an online voting period for five randomly selected contestants. Today through Sunday, August 19, women can nominate their best girlfriends on the Steamboat NATHCEZ Facebook page in five different categories: Best Girl to Grab a Margarita with, Wing-Woman, Sister from Another Mister, Fashionista Friend, and Gossip Girl. At the end of the nomination period, the Steamboat NATCHEZ will randomly select one woman from each category as a Duchess of Dixieland qualifying them to compete for the Diva of Dixieland title. It will then be up to Facebook fans to vote for their favorite Duchess by clicking the “Like” button under their picture. All of the five Duchesses will receive two tickets to Margaritas on the Mississippi where votes will be tallied and the Diva of Dixieland crowned. The Steamboat NATCHEZ invites friends and fans to join in the lavish presentation of the five Duchesses at 6:15 p.m. on the Steamboat dock (the River and Toulouse Street) before Margaritas on the Mississippi departs at 7 p.m.

Additionally, anyone who has purchased a ticket to Margaritas on the Mississippi will be allowed one bonus vote before boarding the cruise. Please note that if the Steamboat NATCHEZ is unable to contact the five category winners within 12 hours after nominations close, or if the winners are unable to attend Margaritas on the Mississippi, a runner-up will be selected. All winners may be scheduled for media appearances the week of the event. The Steamboat Company cannot be held liable for user-generated posts.
